President

Yasmine Gholami

Yasmine Gholami

Yasmine Gholami is the President for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. She is a fourth year middle school math education major. She is a commuter from Manchester, MO.  Yasmine has been apart of various organizations such as Saints Nation, where she also use to serve as a peer mentor. Yasmine is a Multicultural Dean’s Scholar for the office of Diversity & Inclusion. In her free time, Yasmine enjoys hanging out with friends/family, going on adventures, and hanging out with her dog. She has been apart of Maryville Student Government for the last 3 years and it excited to be serving as President this year. She joined Maryville Student Government to help make a difference on this campus, not only for herself, but for the students and faculty members at Maryville as well.

Sara Doberstein

Sara Doberstein 

Sara Doberstein is the Vice President for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. Sara is a third year cybersecurity major and political science minor. Her hobbies include reading and cross-stitching (she is currently working on a really cool Star Trek project). Sara is involved in several organizations on campus including Maryville Student Government, CRU, and is in the Bascom Honors Program. Sara is on Maryville Student Government to help bring the voice of students to campus administrators and to help make Maryville an open and inclusive campus. She is really looking forward to spreading awareness about Crowdfunding. She is looking forward to this year and all the cool things that Maryville Student Government will be doing!

Alex Lustgarten is the Speaker of the Senate for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. In his  role, he will be overseeing our Financial Affairs and Campus Life department as well as the senators! He is a fourth year English and History major, and a member of the Bascom Honors College. This year he will also serve as co-president for Inclusion at Maryville with the goal of helping all students feel like Maryville really is their new home and is welcoming as possible. He wants Maryville Student Government to grow its presence on campus so students understand the many ways Maryville Student Government can help the student experience on campus.

Speaker of the House

Tariq Harris

Tariq Harris

Tariq Harris is the Speaker of the House for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. In his  role, he will be overseeing our Student Affairs and Academic Affairs departments as well as the student representatives that we have! He is a second year student, from Grand Prairie, Tx. He is obtaining a Duel Degree in Biomedical Science and Psychology. In Texas, Tariq attended Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy; where he concentrated in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. During his free time, Tariq loves to try new restaurants, going on hikes, spending time with his friends, painting, and going out to enjoy the fine arts. Tariq is excited this year to educate students about the resources and rights they have provided by the University, through his role as Speaker of the House in Student Government. Tariq is also thrilled to help build both the MSG Food Insecurity Committee and Saints Cabinet (the food Pantry on campus) this year. Tariq is excited to meet as many students as possible- if you see him stop him and say Hi!

Cierra Frields

Cierra Frields is the Secretary of Campus Life for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. In her  role, she will be overseeing the main areas on campus that affect the majority of students! She is a third year Physical Therapy student with a minor in deaf studies. She is originally from Wood River, Illinois but currently lives off campus in Chesterfield and commutes to campus. She enjoys rock climbing, cooking, and road tripping to different states with family and friends. Cierra is also involved is Sign Language at Maryville and Physical Therapy Club. She hopes that in her position this year, she can contribute to improve campus as a whole this year by using her skills and the teamwork of the other members of Maryville Student Government.

Hira Hamirani is the Secretary of Student Affairs for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. In her role, she will be overseeing our student representatives from specific groups on campus! She is a fourth year majoring in organizational leadership with a concentration in business and psychology. She is also involved in DeMolay Leadership and Service club and Muslim Student Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, event programming, and playing field hockey. Hailey Schleter

Hailey Schleter is the Secretary for Academic Affairs for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. She will oversee our representatives from each academic college as well as deal with academic concerns and compliments! She is a third year Criminal Justice major and Psychology minor. She absolutely loves spending time with her family and friends. She is always down to watch any superhero, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter movie! Hailey is a part of Maryville Student Government because she wants to make an impact on our campus by being the true voice of the students and helping to make Maryville the absolute best it can be. She cannot wait to see all the excitement and fun this year is going to bring!

Chief Financial Officer

Mallory Cotton-Whitehorn

Mallory Cotton-Whitehorn is the Chief Financial Officer for the 2019-2020 school year. In her role, she will be overseeing the funding and will be allocating funding to various student organizations on campus. She is from St. Louis, Missouri and is a commuter student. She is a third year Actuarial Science major. She loves to cook, try different foods, travel, watch movies, and hangout with friends.  She is in her second year in Maryville Student Government and wanted to join Maryville Student Government to be a liaison. She noticed that Maryville has a variety of aspects that she has been a part of and it was important for her to share and her along with other student experiences, in order to make Maryville an opportunity that no one misses out on. She is a student manager for the M-Store, a Big Red M Box committee member. Therefore, when she became a part of Maryville Student Government, she wanted to hear other student’s experiences. Having the role as the Chief Financial Officer is one of her biggest accomplishments here at Maryville. She is truly gracious to be working with many organizations and getting to know all of them. She plans to not only fund different organizations but, to also hear what their club aspirations are and help them grow as a student organization!

Darah Ballard

Darah Ballard is the Deputy of Financial Affairs Officer for Maryville Student Government for the 2019-2020 school year. In her role, she will be overseeing our the funding and will be allocating funding to various student organizations on campus. She is a fourth year Accounting and Business Administration student. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She has 4 siblings, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Apart from being in Maryville Student Government, she is also involved as a Residential Assistant on campus, is a Multicultural Scholar and a student assistant in the Center for Student Engagement. Her hobbies are singing, dancing painting, spending time with family and friends. She is super excited to work with everyone,  and can’t start this year off right!
