For your first appointment with the Office of Personal Counseling, please arrive approximately 10 minutes early in order to complete some paperwork. During this appointment, you will have a chance to talk about concerns that brought you to our counselor. Together, you and your counselor will discuss what you hope to gain or accomplish and then decide the best course of action.
Maryville University offers free, short-term, confidential counseling to all Maryville students.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, the Office of Personal Counseling is available to help. Appointments for counseling can be made at the office or by calling the office at 314.529.9556 during regular business hours. Students presenting in emergency circumstances during office hours will be seen by staff to provide a timely response and assistance. For emergencies during non-business hours (some evenings and weekends), contact the Office of Public Safety at 314.529.9500 or the Police at 911. A counselor is on-call at all times and the Office of Public Safety will contact that counselor when needed.
