In an effort to help families make Maryville an affordable option, a number of resources, including scholarships as well as links to other financial aid opportunities are listed below. From the prestigious Presidential Scholarship covering tuition room and board to the Art and Design Scholarship for Fine Arts Majors to the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for new transfer students, the University tries to maintain a full compliment of financial incentives for outstanding students.  There are many scholarships sponsored by companies, fraternal organizations, churches, professional groups and employment affiliates. Freshman Merit-Based Scholarships

Freshman Merit-Based Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen using both cumulative high school grade point averages and highest composite ACT or SAT scores. Our merit-based scholarship programs recognize the outstanding academic, talent based and leadership achievements of our incoming freshmen. Students who apply for admission are automatically considered for scholarships (some scholarships may require additional paperwork).

Automatic Scholarships

  • Barat Scholarship
    To qualify for a Barat Scholarship which awards $12,000 annually to incoming freshman, students must have a 3.5 GPA and ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1220. The scholarship is renewable each year over a four-year period.
  • Duchesne Scholarship
    The Duchesne Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $10,000 annually to incoming freshmen with a 3.0 GPA and an ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1110. The scholarship is renewable each year over a four-year period.
  • Mouton Scholarship
    The Mouton Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $8,000 annually to incoming freshmen with a 2.5 GPA and an ACT score of 22 or an SAT score of 1030. The scholarship is renewable each year over a four-year period.


Competitive Scholarships

  • University Scholars Program
    Under the University Scholars program, Maryville University awards its most prestigious academic scholarships (Presidential, Trustee & Multicultural) to qualified freshmen applicants through a scholarship competition.

    Presidential Scholarship
    Presidential Scholarships provide recognition and financial support for outstanding undergraduate students who enter Maryville University directly from high school. Students must enroll full-time. The scholarship covers undergraduate tuition, as well as room and board in one of Maryville's two residence halls.

    To participate in this scholarship competition, students must have a 3.5 minimum high school (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA and at least a 27 ACT composite score or 1220 SAT-I combined score. This scholarship is renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters, excluding summers. A 3.4 cumulative GPA is required for renewal.

    Trustee Scholarship
    Trustee Scholarships provide recognition and financial support for outstanding undergraduate students who enter Maryville University directly from high school. Students must enroll full-time. The scholarship covers undergraduate tuition Full time, Undergraduate Tuition
     
    To participate in this scholarship competition, students must have a 3.5 minimum high school (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA and at least a 27 ACT composite score or 1220 SAT-I combined score. This scholarship is renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters, excluding summers. A 3.4 cumulative GPA is required for renewal.

    Multicultural Scholarships
    Students who demonstrate a solid high school academic preparation, exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to actively contribute to the diversity at Maryville. A select group of freshmen applicants meeting the requirements for the Presidential, Trustee and Multicultural scholarships will be invited to interview at University Scholars Day. These scholarships are renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters
  • M-PACT Scholarships
    M-PACT scholars are selected based on a student's potential to make an M-PACT at Maryville University. M-PACT scholars will assist in the enhancement of a vibrant campus life. This scholarship is awarded to a select number of incoming freshmen. The award is $2,000 per year and is renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters. Maintaining a 2.5 college GPA, as well as fulfilling the service requirements for this award, is required for renewal. Each M-PACT scholar is expected to participate in this program for four years.   • Art & Design Scholarship Program
    The Art & Design Scholarship Program provides recognition and financial support for undergraduate students with outstanding artistic talent who enter Maryville University directly from high school or as a transfer student. Scholarship amounts range from $500 - $5000. Students must submit a portfolio for review.



Transfer Merit-Based Scholarships

Automatic Scholarships

Transfer Merit-Based Scholarships are awarded to full-time, incoming transfer students using the transfer grade point average. This average is calculated using official transcripts from each college a student attended. Awards are given to students in recognition of 3.0 and 3.5 GPA scores and are in the amount of either $3,000 or $5,000 annually, depending on GPA. The awards are renewable with a 3.0 college grade point average.

  • Phi Theta Kappa Award
    Transfer students who have a 3.0 GPA, 24 transferable credit hours and who are members of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society will be considered for this $1,000 annual award.

Army ROTC Program

In partnership with Washington University, host of an Army ROTC Detachment, Maryville offers the Army ROTC Basic and Advanced Training courses to qualified, undergraduate, degree seeking, full-time students of Maryville University who desire to earn appointments as commissioned officers in the United States ArmyAs the primary school, Maryville will provide housing in one of the residence halls on campus on a double-occupancy, space-available basis, along with board for a maximum of four years of undergraduate, full-time study. New freshman or transfer students who are enrolled and have been accepted as cadets in the Army ROTC at Washington University, and who have chosen to receive the federal scholarship covering tuition and fees for this course of study, will receive on campus, dormitory housing. The award is not transferable to other on- or off-campus housing, books or other educational expenses.

Recipients are required to complete the FAFSA process, as well as a dorm contract for each year of study. With both the federal stipend for ROTC and Maryville providing room and board, no other Maryville University funding program will be made available.
