Summer Programs

The Summer Arts Institute Middle and High School Program

The Summer Arts Institute Middle and High School Program offers fine arts instruction and experience for students who have completed grades 6 through 10.  These two-week, all-day, intensive studio programs in drawing,  metalsmithing, painting, fibers and ceramics are focused on providing students artistic experiences that expand what they typically have access to in a traditional school setting.  The Summer Arts Institute curriculum focus is on developing each student’s artistic and technical skills through hands-on experiences with individual attention and encouragement.  Class size is small.  The program includes a parent/student orientation prior to the start of the first class, and a student exhibition and open house at the close of the program.

Orientation will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012  from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Art and Design Building on the main campus of Maryville University

Ages: 11 – 17.  Students must have completed 6th, grade
