When I'm Not Teaching
When I am not teaching I stay busy keeping up with my children's various activities (music, tennis and dance) and trying to practice what I preach be getting exercise. I continue to also work in clinical practice seeing adults with neurologic dysfunction. I was fortunate to get to travel to Europe last summer visiting Greece and Italy, just amazing! This summer (2011) I'm heading to Colorado and one thing I plan to see is the cliff dwellings is Mesa Verde.

I enjoy working out, running, getting the heart rate over 130! Music (rock and roll especially 70's classics and everything else that is good), also like high end stereo equipment (read about and listen to). I enjoy eating and cooking food (Italian and Continental) as well as wine (California, French, and German 75 and 76 especially Gold Capsule Auslese, BA, and TBA's look them up and if you get lucky try one). I also enjoy reading Greek and Roman history as well as biographies especially of great people (Abraham Lincoln).Last I really enjoy reading new research about hip OA, low back pain, etc.

When I am not teaching in a classroom, I am volunteering as the Chair of the Peer Assistance program of the Missouri Nurses Association. I founded a support group for nurses in recovery which is the only support group like this in Missouri. I am in the process of developing an Intervention Progam for nurses with addiction. Though I am not in recovery, I am the voice for those who are seeking treatment in a currently misunderstood climate toward those with the disease of addiction.
