Nursing is the care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities. Sick and well in all settings. It is critical to study nursing to implement interventions that are evidence-based. You need those things that are supported by research and not done just because that's the way we've always done it. At Maryville, we allow you to interact with patients under the supervision of a faculty member. And learn not only the science of nursing, but also the art of communicating with patients and their families. Our faculty provide you with individual attention including teaching learning strategies that help learners of all types to be successful. We have an integrative simulation laboratory using high fidelity mannequins that are quite life-like to help you learn how to handle situations that you might not have an opportunity to be involved with in a clinical setting, such as cardiac arrests and the birth of babies. You will also have the opportunity to have clinical experiences at a variety of hospitals, clinics, and community agencies across the St. Louis area. Because we prepare you as generalists, when you graduate, you can practice nursing after you pass the nursing licensing examination in just about any healthcare setting there is.
