An Overview of Business Administration at Maryville

Business administration is a versatile degree that gives students a working knowledge of all facets of today's business organization. Students will learn about the key functional areas, such as accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, international business, management, information technology, and operations management. In addition, a business administration major can specialize their knowledge within a particular business area they like while maintaining the flexibility of a larger degree program. Maryville features a hands-on style of education that takes place in small classrooms, which makes interaction with leading faculty the norm for our programs. We are also leaders in higher education in the use of technology. So students are not coming to a business program to use tools and methods from 20 and 30 years ago. They are learning on the same or even better technology than they will see when they graduate. We emphasize the development of real-world business skills for our students so that they enter the workforce not only prepared but confident because they're Maryville graduates. Business administration has one of the widest array of career options of any degree program. A business administration major, depending on their talents and interest, could pursue jobs from management, marketing, finance, to working in nonprofit administration, among other choices.
