[MUSIC PLAYING] Biochemistry is one of the branches of chemistry. Biochemistry studies life from a molecular basis. Biochemistry is at the intersection of biology and chemistry. Advances in our understanding of biochemistry are driven by our deeper understanding of the chemical basis of life. Maryville's program in biochemistry is unique due to our small class sizes. Our laboratories are taught by our faculty. And students in the biochemistry program learn science by doing science. The methods and the equipment that we use are state of the art. We use modern pedagogy. And our students learn the most advanced techniques in doing biochemistry. Students who graduate with a biochemistry degree can go into a variety of careers.
