Healthcare Management – Careers
What Can I Do With A Healthcare Management Degree?
Healthcare is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the United States. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 20 percent increase in healthcare management jobs from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations.
As the world’s population continues to expand, the average life span steadily increases, and healthcare policy and insurance laws continue to evolve, the need for professionals who are prepared to manage and grow medical practices is critical.
Healthcare managers typically work in:
- Private and hospital-owned practices (including primary care and medical/surgical specialties)
- Hospital departments (such as radiology, oncology, laboratory services, anesthesiology, and emergency)
- Urgent care clinics
- Community health clinics
- Physical therapy clinics/practices
- Home health agencies
