Maryville University Hockey Center Announced

Maryville University has entered into a five-year agreement with the Chesterfield Hockey Association to name the new Chesterfield SportsComplex the Maryville University Hockey Center.

Maryville University is the largest leaseholder of the complex. The University was instrumental in helping the project come to fruition and will help with the sustainability of the complex because of its use of ice during non-peak hours.

“Maryville is thrilled to support the vision and work of the Chesterfield Hockey Association in the creation of the center, and to become an active member in the growing and vibrant Chesterfield Valley community,” said president Mark Lombardi, PhD. “The Saints hockey teams will now have a state-of-the-art home facility where they can train and compete, and will be able to connect with youth hockey to create a pipeline for future players and to create a fan base.”

Development for the complex began last fall, with a grand opening projected for late summer 2019. The 84,000-square-foot facility will feature two NHL-sized rinks, seating for approximately 2,000 spectators, a second-floor viewing platform, locker rooms, team meeting rooms and offices.

The Hockey Center will be the home facility of Maryville’s men’s and women’s hockey teams beginning Fall 2020.
