1,000 Saints Night to Benefit Kids Rock Cancer

Third Annual '1,000 Saints Night' to be held Thursday, Feb. 25

Reading time: 1 minute

Maryville University and the Department of Athletics will sponsor the third annual “1000 Saints Night” for the basketball doubleheader Thursday, Feb. 25, benefitting Kids Rock Cancer. The Saints hope to draw 1,000 fans for their regular season finale against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The women’s game tips off at 5:30 p.m.; the men’s contest follows at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of the usual $5 admission fee, voluntary cash donations will be accepted toward the night’s $5,000 fundraising goal for Kids Rock Cancer, Maryville’s innovative music therapy program. The program helps children successfully cope with the emotional challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis by writing and recording songs.

Supporters can also donate via Text to Give: text the word “Saints” to 71441.

A student tailgate runs from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Simon Center lobby. In addition, the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours networking event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Donius University Center Atrium.

Event supporters are encouraged to use the hashtag #1000Saints on all social media platforms. For more information, visit www.maryvillesaints.com.
