General/Academics
- Will classes be held on-campus in the fall? NEW
Yes, we are anticipating a normal fall semester. On-campus and online courses will be available. Maryville offers a number of different course formats. Talk to your Life Coach or faculty advisor about your schedule.
- Will I need to wear a mask on campus and social distance? NEW
While we don’t anticipate the need to social distance in classrooms this fall, the University has not made a determination yet on overall campus mitigation strategies for fall, such as face covering requirements. We are optimistic that with increased vaccinations and improved public health, we will be able have a near normal fall semester. We will continue to follow the guidelines set by the St. Louis County Health Department and CDC. Maryville will communicate any changes to policies and protocols prior to the start of the fall semester.
- Do I still need to fill out the Daily Health Survey? NEW
The university has not made a decision yet regarding the continuation of the daily health survey. We are monitoring the public health situation to inform this decision. Maryville will communicate any changes and protocols prior to the start of the fall semester.
- Will the Pass/No Pass policy remain for the fall semester? NEW
Yes, the Pass/No Pass policy remains unchanged for summer. Refer to our Pass/No Pass instructions for detailed information.
- Have any significant dates changed (i.e., add/drop and start date)? NEW
There have not been any significant changes to the 2021-2022 academic calendar. You can refer to it here.
- Are there any changes to nursing clinical requirements for the fall semester? NEW
There are no changes to nursing clinical requirements for the fall. Please contact your instructor if you have questions regarding clinical rotations.
- How will internships work in the fall? NEW
Programmatic internship requirements will remain. Individual programs will work with students to design on-ground, remote and alternative experiences as necessary.
Housing
- Will University housing open for the 2021-2022 school year? NEW
Maryville will be at full capacity this fall with all residence halls and apartment buildings open. We will no longer house students in nearby hotels.
- Will I have a roommate? NEW
All students will either have a roommate or suitemates depending on the facility.
- When will University housing open for the fall? NEW
The fall move-in date has not been determined yet, but we typically open housing a few days before the first day of classes. Once move-in dates are established, the Residential Life team will communicate the date and move-in instructions to students.
- Will students be tested for COVID-19 before moving into University housing? NEW
The University has not made a decision about move-in testing yet. Once a decision has been made, Maryville will update residential students.
- Am I allowed to have guests in my residential space? NEW
Residential students will be able to have guests in their University housing. Students will be expected to follow residential facility guidelines regarding guest hours.
- Will the residence halls be holding in-person events in the fall? NEW
Residential Life will have in-person programming and events in the residence halls.
- Are housing costs increasing? NEW
Housing and meal plan costs have been frozen and will not increase for the 2021-2022 school year. You can find the pricing information on our tuition and fees page.
- Can I stay on campus over the winter break? NEW
Residential students may remain on-campus over winter break for an additional fee. Contact the Residential Life team at reslife@maryville.edu or 314-529-9552 if you’re interested.
