Return to Campus Criteria

Maryville is looking forward to a near normal on-campus experience. Every Maryville student taking on-campus classes at Maryville must meet ONE of the four criteria below before returning to campus:

1. Be fully vaccinated before returning to campus and submit proof of vaccination

Students are considered fully vaccinated when it’s been at least two weeks (14 days) since receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccination or two weeks (14 days) after the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. You must submit your proof of vaccination by 11:59 p.m. on August 15.

Students that have provided vaccination information will receive their Return to Campus FastPass via email, allowing them to move-in, go directly to orientation (for new students) or attend classes and other campus activities.

Additionally, those students will receive a limited-edition Maryville t-shirt and a ticket to sit in a special Maryville section at the St. Louis Cardinals game on September 28.

Students who are fully vaccinated, but do not submit documentation by August 15 must upload their documentation at least 24 hours before arriving on campus or present to Health and Wellness in-person. Residential students will visit Health and Wellness to present proof of vaccination prior to moving in. Commuter students need to schedule an appointment with Health & Wellness to present proof of vaccination.

  • Commuter Students attending Orientation should sign-up for an appointment here.
  • All other Commuter Students should sign-up for an appointment here.

Students will not be permitted to attend classes or participate in other campus activities until they have received their Return to Campus FastPass.

2. Have been diagnosed with and recovered from COVID-19 within 90 days of return to campus (orientation or first day of classes).

If you were diagnosed with COVID-19 within 90 days of your return to campus (orientation or first day of classes), documentation must be provided to Health and Wellness using the COVID-19 submission form by August 15 at 11:59 p.m. to receive a FastPass. After August 15, documentation may be submitted in-person at a student’s move-in time (for residential students) or by scheduling an appointment with Health & Wellness August 20 – 22 to present documentation (for commuter students).

  • Commuter Students attending Orientation should sign-up for an appointment here.
  • All other Commuter Students should sign-up for an appointment here.

Maryville will accept either a dated copy of the positive test result OR a dated copy of the isolation release letter from your local health department.

Documentation must include:

  • Student’s name
  • Date the test was taken (must not be more than 90 prior to return to campus) OR
  • Date student was released from isolation (must not be more than 90 days prior to return to campus)

3. Have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of return to campus (orientation or first day of classes)

You may choose to get tested by the provider of your choice prior to your arrival on campus. If you do, documentation of the negative result must be presented to Health and Wellness using the COVID-19 submission form at least 24 hours before returning to campus. Documentation may also be submitted in-person at a student’s move-in time (for residential students) or by scheduling an appointment with Health & Wellness August 20 – 22 to present documentation (for commuter students).

  • Commuter Students attending Orientation should sign-up for an appointment here.
  • All other Commuter Students should sign-up for an appointment here.

Documentation MUST be uploaded at least 24 hours before your arrival on campus and meet specific criteria including:

  • Student’s name
  • The date the test was taken (not the date the results were received)
  • Test result
  • Test was administered not more than 72 hours prior to your arrival on campus (orientation or the first day of classes).
  • Test was administered by a healthcare provider. Tests may not be self-administered.

If you get tested prior to returning to campus and the result is positive, please contact Maryville’s Health and Wellness Office immediately at 314-529-9520. Do not come to campus if you’ve tested positive!

4. Get COVID-19 tested during the check-in process at Maryville

If you do not meet criteria options 1, 2 or 3, you will not be allowed to participate in Orientation activities or attend classes until you are tested by Maryville. COVID-19 testing is free for students. Commuter students must sign-up for a testing appointment by 11:59 p.m. on August 15. Maryville will use the Abbott Binax Rapid test and the process is anticipated to take approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of students needing testing.

  • Commuter Students attending Orientation should sign-up for an appointment here.
  • All other Commuter Students should sign-up for an appointment here.

Here is what you can expect if you need to get tested:

  • COVID-19 testing will be car-side, so you can wait inside your vehicle for your results
  • Test results will be delivered privately through an app after 15 minutes
  • After receiving a negative test result, students will receive a FastPass to return to campus
  • If a student tests positive, they will consult with a Student Life representative to discuss quarantine/isolation plans.
