The safety of our students, staff and faculty is the utmost priority for Maryville University. In response to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic and national emergency and to lessen the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission, the University has adopted a number of policies and protocols based on current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other state and local public health authorities that remain in effect until further notice. We have developed a flexible approach, and the University’s plans, policies, and protocols may be adjusted if conditions improve or worsen.

Health agencies at the federal, state, and local levels consistently state that wearing face coverings and maintaining social distancing play a significant role in mitigating the spread of COVID-19. Thus, it is imperative for all people to wear face coverings in public spaces on campus. This protects your fellow students, faculty and staff as well as yourselves. This is a central lynchpin of our campus health and safety plan and it will lessen the likelihood of transmission. On this policy there will be no compromise.

Helping to mitigate COVID-19 transmission is a shared responsibility. Public Safety representatives are on campus to help with COVID-19 policy and protocol enforcement and education. Students and employees who fail to adhere to COVID-19 policies and protocols may be subject to disciplinary action under the code of student conduct and employee handbook, respectively. If a member of the Maryville community refuses to follow COVID-19 policies or protocols, that person may be asked to leave campus in addition to receiving disciplinary action.
