Not So Trivial Pursuits

ST. LOUIS — Two Maryville University groups are sponsoring trivia nights in February to benefit ongoing scholarship for students and a new, local, non-profit agency.
The University’s fourth-year Occupational Therapy students will host a “California Dreamin'” Trivia Night from 7-10:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Donius University Center Atrium. A portion of the proceeds will help the fourth-year students attend the American Occupational Therapy Association’s national conference in Long Beach, Calif., in April, where they are scheduled to present their research projects. Some proceeds will benefit Doorways, an interfaith HIV/AIDS housing support organization which also serves as a research site for Maryville OT students. The cost is $10 per person or $75 for a table of eight people. For more information or to register, contact Ashlyn Cunningham, assistant professor of occupational therapy, at 314-529-9533 or acunningham@maryville.edu.
On Friday, February 15, a student organization, Maryville Promoting Women’s Rights (M*PWR), will sponsor its first trivia night at 6 p.m. in the Donius University Center Atrium. All proceeds will be donated to Vision 8, a new shelter for women and children who are fleeing violence. The cost is $5 for students, $15 for non-students and is open to the public. For more information or to register, contact M*PWR President Lauren Wilson at lwilson2@maryville.edu.
