Dean of School of Education weighs in on newly released NCATE recommendations
Yesterday, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), one of the most widely recognized and influential organizations in education in the United States, issued a press release summarizing the recommendations from a panel of experts from around the country. The bottom line: our education system needs teachers better equipped for teaching, and the hands-on clinical time future teachers spend in classrooms before their college graduation is more crucial than ever. It’s a message Maryville University has been embracing for nearly two decades now.
