FreeJoin Maryville students, faculty, staff and friends to watch the solar eclipse. Arrive early for free eclipse safety glasses! Supply is limited.
Eclipse-themed food, activities and student research begins at 11:15 a.m.

11:15 a.m. & 12:15 p.m.: Kelly Lave, Assistant Professor of Physics, and John Marino, Associate Professor of English, present The Science Behind a Solar Eclipse presents: The Science Behind a Solar Eclipse (Gander Dining Hall)
11:49 a.m.: Partial eclipse begins
1:17 p.m.: Total eclipse
1:19 p.m. – 2:43 p.m.: Partial eclipse
Free parking available in in Lot 12 (Walker Hall)

For a total eclipse to take place, the sun, moon and Earth must all be in a direct path. A total solar eclipse is only visible from a small area, from where the center of the moon’s shadow hits Earth. The sky becomes very dark, as if it were night. NASA’s Safety Tips to view the eclipse.
