St. Louis   — Maryville University released a second-generation mobile app today (Aug. 20) that will give students and the entire Maryville community better access to services, news, events and activities on campus.

Available for both Apple and Android platforms, the free app also includes links to the campus social media streams, the campus library, admissions and class registration.

Maryville President Mark Lombardi said the app is part of Maryville’s push to give students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff the ability to connect easily where they spend time – primarily on their phones and tablets. “We will constantly release new modules,” he said.

Shani Lenore-Jenkins, Maryville’s associate vice president for Enrollment, spearheaded the project and said the new app will improve the University’s ability to recruit and retain students. “Today students expect to connect, communicate and consume content anytime and anywhere,” she said. “Like all great apps, our app, has built in customization features. Students have choices and can directly add events from their app to their phone calendars. Prospective students will find our admissions module is very helpful too.”

The new app sports Maryville’s signature red and white motif. New users can find the app by searching for “Maryville University” in app stores. Phones will download the new app as an update for individuals who already use the first-generation Maryville app.
