Letter from the President to Maryville Community

Dear Maryville Community,

Recently, Missouri Governor Parsons announced another tier will soon be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Beginning March 15, Phase 1B – Tier 3 (Critical Infrastructure) will be activated. With this activation, 550,000 more Missourians will be eligible for the vaccine.

While most Maryville faculty, staff and students will not be eligible until Phase 2 or Phase 3, some will be eligible earlier based on their work inside or outside of the university or based on increased risk for severe illness. Maryville’s vaccination site application is still being considered and so we encourage you to receive the vaccine through a healthcare provider or pharmacy as soon as you are eligible.

We want to remind you of our Vaccination Information page on the SaintStrong website, which is full of resources including the list of vaccination priorities in Missouri and Illinois, pre-registration information by county and a list of vaccination sites.

If you receive the COVID-19 vaccine, you should submit proof via our form, which is confidential. While the university has not made a decision about requiring the vaccine in the future, we are still asking community members to submit this information to help us with contact tracing efforts and to understand the vaccination needs on our campus as we prepare to become a vaccination site.

If you have additional questions, please contact Maryville’s Health and Wellness Office at 314-529-9520 or healthandwellness@maryville.edu.
