3/19/09
Maryville University School of Health Professions and the Omicron Iota chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International will unveil a juried photography display, “Faces of Caring: Nurses at Work,” at a reception on 7 p.m., April 3, in Donius University Center on Maryville’s campus. The exhibit will continue through May 13.
“This important exhibit shows nurses interacting with patients and demonstrates the significance of the relationship nurses have with those they care for,” said Elizabeth Buck, Ph.D., director of Maryville University’s nursing program. “We hope that in viewing these photographs, the public will recognize the vital work nurses do each and every day.”
The photographs were selected in a contest sponsored by the New York University College of Nursing Excellence, Johnson & Johnson, American Journal of Nursing, Beatrice Renfield Foundation, and the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence.
The opening reception will also celebrate nursing students newly-inducted into Sigma Theta Tau. Refreshments and music will be provided.
