Social Science Education, Grades 9-12 – Careers
What Can I Do With A Social Science Education Degree?
Social Science teachers help students build on the fundamentals learned in elementary and middle school and prepare them for the academic challenges of high school. Employment in the field is expected to grow by 8 percent through 2026. Many teachers use their summer break to enroll in graduate courses to advance their teaching careers or seek leadership positions at the school and district levels. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the annual median wage for elementary, middle and high school principals in 2016 was $92,510 with the top 10 percent earning more than $135,770.
