Spirit of Maryville Awards Nomination Form
Please review the following criteria before submitting your nomination.
The Dean’s Award was created to recognize alumni who bring distinction to themselves, their profession, community and Alma Mater.
- Areas of consideration for nominating candidates:
- Career achievements
- Professional impact
- Significant publications/research
- Civic involvement
- National or international distinction
- Participation in alumni activities
- Dean’s Awards are given by the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, Simon School of Business and Walker College of Health Professions.
- Recipients must attend awards ceremony
- All individuals are eligible, preference given to alumni
- Nominations must be submitted by September 1 of each fiscal year
- Members of the board of trustees, faculty and staff of the University are eligible to receive the award upon retirement from their position
- Award recipients are determined by January 1 of each fiscal year
The Young Alumni Award was created to recognize young alumni who bring distinction to their profession, their community and their alma mater.
- Areas of consideration for nominating candidates:
- Career achievements
- Professional impact
- Civic involvement
- National or international distinction
- Participation in alumni activities
- Recipients must attend awards ceremony
- An individual must have graduated from Maryville within the last 10 years
- Nominations must be submitted by September 1 of each fiscal year
- Members of the board of trustees, faculty and staff of the University are not eligible to receive the award
- Award recipients are determined by January 1 of each fiscal year
The Volunteer of the Year Award was created to recognize a volunteer who has made significant contributions to the University within the past year.
- Areas of consideration for nominating candidates:
- Participation in alumni activities
- Participation in the campus community
- Recipients must attend awards ceremony
- All individuals are eligible, preference given to alumni
- Nominations must be submitted by September 1 of each fiscal year
- Members of the board of trustees, faculty and staff of the University are eligible to receive the award upon retirement from their position
- Award recipients are determined by January 1 of each fiscal year
Any faculty or staff member is eligible to submit a nomination, and a committee including Development and Alumni Relations staff and Academic Deans will make the final selection. Award winners will be announced at the annual Spirit of Maryville Dinner. Nominees not selected for this year’s awards will be reviewed for future awards.
