‘Bigger, Stronger, Faster’ First in Film Series

Maryville University has announced the spring 2009 line up of the Maryville Documentary Series. The four featured films cover a range of topics, including the infiltration of steroids into professional sports, the dire financial state of our nation, the mysterious world of the Motion Picture Association of America and the history of break dancing.

All showings will be held in University Auditorium. There is no admission charge. A small reception, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium lobby, will precede each film. The documentary series is sponsored by Maryville Student Government.

Bigger, Stronger, Faster
Tuesday, Jan. 20 (PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE)
This documentary focuses on the use of steroids as performance-enhancing drugs in America.

The Freshest Kids
Tuesday, Feb. 3
The film traces the history of break dancing: its evolution and its place within hip-hop culture.

This Film is Not Yet Rated
Tuesday, March 24
The film explores the Hollywood movie rating system and how it affects American culture.

 I.O.U.S.A.
Tuesday, April 14
I.O.U.S.A examines the growing national debt and cautions that America must tighten its belt or face dire economic consequences.
