Pre-Med – Program Features
Because of its excellent reputation, small upper-level science class sizes of less than 20 students, and laboratories with fewer than 16 students, many of Maryville’s graduates have had remarkable success in applying to professional schools in the sciences.
Maryville students planning to apply to medical school are advised by the Pre-Health Professions advisor and a Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee, which usually consists of the advisory and three additional science faculty members, a psychology faculty member, an English faculty member and someone with a degree in the health professions.
For students interested in osteopathic medicine, we have an agreement with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Penn. that allows students to pursue their medical degree after three years at Maryville. These students will earn a B.S. in biology from Maryville and a D.O. from Lake Erie College.
