Pre-Dentistry – Careers

What Can I Do With A Pre-Dentistry Degree?

Dentists diagnose and treat problems with a patient’s teeth, gums and related parts of the mouth and provide advice and instruction on maintaining oral health. Dentists must be licensed in all states. In order to qualify for the license applicants must graduate from an accredited dental school and pass written and practical exams. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for dentists in 2012 was $149,310. Employment is projected to grow 16 percent through 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
