Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Development Admission Requirements

Application requirements

Acceptance into the Program

Students accepted into the program will have an overall minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0. The acceptance decision also takes into consideration previous graduate work, scores on standardized tests, professional experience, letters of recommendation, and interviews.

Applicants to the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Development will submit the following:

  1. Completed Application (online or paper), along with a non-refundable application processing fee;
  2. A 300 word written statement of purpose that explains why you desire to enter the Organizational Leadership and Development program and how it will help you accomplish your education and/or career goals;
  3. Resume;
  4. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work;
  5. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
  6. Official test scores sent to Maryville University. The Organizational Leadership and Development graduate program accepts test scores taken in the last five years from the following tests: LSAT, GMAT, GRE and MAT. The test requirement may be waived if:
  7. You have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  8. You have completed a master’s degree from an accredited university.
  9. You have at least 3 years of management experience. *Portfolio review may be required.
    -You are in the Early Access Program and have completed at least one graduate level course prior to undergraduate degree completion.
  10. Three Letters of Recommendation from professionals who can speak to your ability to be successful in graduate school; for example, these may be written by a faculty member or supervisor of relevant work experience.
  11. For some applicants, an interview may be requested.

Deadlines

Fall admission: Submit applications by 6/15 with extension to 8/15 space permitting

Spring admission: Submit applications by 11/15 with extension to 1/15 space permitting

International Students must also submit:

College/university transcripts that have been professionally evaluated. See Transcript Evaluation.

  1. Official TOEFL score for applicants whose native language is not English (minimum score of 550 written, 213 computer-based or 80 iBT).

Conditional Acceptance

For those students whose grades do not meet the overall minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or whose admissions application is incomplete, conditional acceptance may be granted provided there is other evidence that the applicant has the ability to do satisfactory graduate work. Such evidence might include an excellent record of graduate work at another institution, high scores on any of the graduate school tests, or exceptional professional experience. Students whose undergraduate GPA is under 3.0 will be re-evaluated after they have taken 6 graduate credits. If their graduate GPA is lower than 3.0, they will be asked to withdraw from the program.
