U.S. News & World Report recognizes Maryville as a “Best College for Veterans”

November 12, 2013

ST. LOUIS—Maryville University is ranked 35th on U.S. News & World Report’s first ever “Best Colleges for Veterans” list. Maryville was among more than 280 universities initially considered for inclusion.

The magazine released the announcement for 2014 on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

“Maryville is proud to be considered a top university for U.S. veterans,” said Maryville President Mark Lombardi. “We owe a great debt to our veterans and providing excellent undergraduate and graduate options to them that are flexible and affordable is an important goal of Maryville University.”

Maryville is one of only three nationally ranked universities in the St. Louis area. U.S. News & World Report named the university the No. 1 overperforming university in the nation for 2013, and G.I. Jobs magazine has named Maryville a “Military Friendly” school for the past three years.

U.S. News & World Report created the new “Best Colleges for Veterans” rankings to provide military veterans with information about which top-ranked schools offer benefits to veterans and active service members. The list includes only numerically ranked schools from the 2014 edition of the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges publication that are certified for the GI Bill, a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium and a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

U.S. News ranked these qualifying schools numerically and in descending order based on their 2014 Best Colleges ranks. There are 234 ranked schools across 10 separate ranking categories.
