Partnership with Junior Achievement Announced
September 7, 2010
St. Louis, MO – Maryville University and Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley, Inc. have announced a partnership to support the JA Finance Park program. Maryville will host a three-year storefront at the Junior Achievement Dennis & Judy Jones Free Enterprise Center in Chesterfield. The storefront will be a place where students obtain information about careers in higher education and learn how saving for education represents an integral part of many family budgets.
Up to 10,000 students and 400 classroom teachers and educators participate in JA Finance Park annually. The economic education program introduces the concepts of personal finance, decision making and career exploration to students in grades 8-12.
“Maryville University is pleased to partner with Junior Achievement in helping young people learn lifelong skills of personal finance,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Tom Eschen. “Our ongoing presence in JA Finance Park will also allow participating students to come to know our University and the many fine programs we offer to students of all ages.”
