Events

Maryville University offers students an active and diverse campus life. Below are traditional events that our students look forward to each year. To view current and upcoming programs, services and activities, feel free to browse our online WHAM calendar.

University Week of Welcome (UWOW)
Start the year off the right way - with fun events all day, every day! Presented by Student Involvement, UWOW is a great chance to get to know campus and the Maryville community. UWOW happens the first week of classes.

Involvement Fair
This is your chance to explore Maryville's 50-plus ways to get involved, all in one place! Every year, the Involvement Fair takes over the Quad with booths set up by student organizations, event committees, campus offices and programs. Great giveaways are part of the fun, so you'll leave with a bag full of useful goodies! Involvement Fair happens during UWOW on the first Thursday of the fall semester.

Foam Party
Like dancing? Like bubbles? One of Maryville's finest traditions - the Foam Party - combines the two! Presented by the Campus Activities Board (CAB) each year, the Foam Party wraps up the annual UWOW festivities, taking place the first Thursday night of the fall semester.

Fall Festival
Fall Festival is a week-long celebration hosted by CAB. It features competitions and homecoming events that culminate with the crowning of the Fall Festival King and Queen during the Fall Festival Formal. Student organizations and other campus groups form teams to compete for the crowns throughout the week. Events include the popular Lip Sync competition and the fabulous Mr. Maryville pageant. The week also features a bonfire and live band concert.

Family Weekend
Family Weekend activities help families get acquainted with their student's Maryville family. Activities and events provide fun for all ages and quality family time. Highlights include Donuts with the Deans, a soccer tailgate lunch, a reception for families hosted by President Mark Lombardi and Midnight Madness.

Summit on Leadership Development (SOLD)
Each spring, Maryville University teams up with area colleges and universities to sponsor the Summit on Leadership Development conference. Offering beginner and advanced learning "tracks" and a high school track facilitated by seasoned college leaders, SOLD offers something for everyone. The schedule features various educational sessions, a keynote speaker and lunch. Attracting over 200 participants from all over the metro region, SOLD is a well-respected St. Louis event.

Siblings Weekend
Bring your siblings, young and old, to campus for Siblings Weekend! CAB plans a variety of fun things to do with your siblings both on and off campus. Siblings Weekend is held just before Spring Break.

Cram Jam
No text books allowed at this event! Stop filling your head and fill your stomach instead, with free breakfast food served by Maryville faculty and staff while hanging out with your friends. Cram Jam is hosted by CAB on the last Tuesday of the fall and spring semesters. Along with a tasty breakfast, you're likely to leave with a prize!

NEXFALAWANACYA
As another exceptional year at Maryville comes to an end, celebrate during Maryville's student send-off tradition: NEXFALAWANACYA. It's the opposite version of UWOW: students participant in fun events all day, every day, but this time the week is held at the end of the year to say "Goodbye." Check out the lineup of activities so you don't miss out. Your mission: have so much fun that we'll see you next fall!

Maryville Idol
Move over Simon, Randy and Paula! Maryville's own version of the hit American Idol television extravaganza - Maryville Idol -showcases the amazing talents of Maryville students. Be sure to bring your cell phone because you'll text-in your vote for the next Maryville Idol. The competition is presented by Student Involvement as part of the NEXFALAWANACYA festivities.

End of the Year Bash
End of the Year Bash is the final event of NEXFALAWANACYA. You'll enjoy lots of food, live music and plenty of great activities -for instance, have you ever tried Pudding Wrestling? The Bash is sponsored by Maryville Student Government.
