Maryville Launches New Online EdD Program in Higher Ed Leadership

Maryville University, a regional leader in administrator preparation education, now offers an online EdD option for its successful Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership program. Designed to shape the future of collegiate leadership, the degree is available across the nation to qualifying individuals seeking a leadership doctorate on a flexible, 100 percent online platform.

“As dean of the School of Education, I am thrilled that we are now able to offer this unique doctorate program to students far beyond the St. Louis region,” said Catherine Bear, EdD, dean of the School of Education. “I am confident the outstanding faculty in our EdD in Higher Education program will challenge students’ thinking and inspire them to achieve their goals.”

The doctorate program is ideal for students with the drive to promote strategic high-level decision-making specifically in the higher education environment. As part of the Maryville suite of leadership-focused degrees, the online doctorate is now accepting students for the Fall 2016 semester.

“We know from experience that through this unique doctoral program students develop new perspectives, skills, and a deeper understanding about leading higher education that directly contributes to their career success,” said Susan Bartel, EdD, director of the Higher Education Leadership Program. “We are excited to be able to offer this cohort-based program in an online format to a broader market of leaders in higher education.”
