Maryville University, in partnership with National City, brings well-known economist Robert Reich to the region as a featured guest in the St. Louis Speakers Series.
Having served in the Ford, Carter, Clinton and now Obama
administrations, Reich is regarded as one of the nation's
leading thinkers on business, labor and the economy. As Secretary of
Labor during the Clinton Administration, he worked to pass the Retirement Protection Act, the Family
Medical Leave Act and increased the minimum wage for hourly workers.
Reich, who is also a professor of public policy at the Goldman School
of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, is the
author of many books, including the best-sellers,
The Work of Nations, The Future of Success and
Locked in the Cabinet. His latest book is
Supercapitalism.
