Melissa Hurley
Head Coach
Melissa Hurley enters her third year at the helm of the Maryville University softball program.
In her first season, she led the Saints to the Conference tournament championship game and had five players earn All-Conference accolades.
Hurley comes to Maryville from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she was an assistant coach for the previous three years. In this role, she was responsible for assisting in all areas relating to coaching, recruiting and fund raising. Her main duty with the 49ers was working with the hitters, catchers and outfielders.
Prior to UNC-Charlotte, Hurley was the graduate assistant softball coach at Augusta State for two years. During her time with the Jaguars, she coordinated the team's travel and conditioning program and also worked with the catchers and outfielders.
She was a four-year starter at the University of Akron where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science in 2003. Hurley earned All-Mid America conference honors in 2002 and finished among the nation's leaders in doubles. She earned a master's degree in health science and physical education from Augusta State in 2005.
Elaine Fisher
Assistant Coach
Elaine Fisher enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Saints softball program.
Fisher came to Maryville from Southeast Missouri State where she was a four-year member of the Redhawk's pitching staff.
In her senior season, she posted a 2.75 ERA as she made 46 appearances in the circle. She pitched 234.1 innings and struck out a team-high 160 batters.
Fisher was named and NCAA Academic All-American and a Scholar Athlete in 2005. She was also a member of the 2008 St. Louis All Star team that played against the USA Olympic Softball team on its "Bound 4 Beijing" tour.
The St. Peters, Mo. native graduated from SEMO in December 2008.
