Men's Soccer Opens Season at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS—The Maryville University men's soccer team under second-year head coach Todd Wallace open its 2010 season Thursday against Fontbonne University. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Clayton, Mo.

The Series:
The Griffins hold the all-time series edge at 17-11 with the last meeting occurring last season. Fontbonne was victorious (3-2) in overtime as Kevin Vonarx sealed the win with his goal with three minutes remaining in the first overtime session.

The Saints' last victory over the Griffin dates back to Sept. 25, 2001.

Other Notes:
Maryville has eight newcomers and 16 returners on its roster. Dusty Allison led the team last year with his 11 points (five goals and one assist). Michael Flately, the Saints' top goal keeper, returns for his junior season after his team-leading 2.63 GAA in 2009.
