Maryville University Names 90 Student-Athletes to the 2009-10 Saints Academic Team
ST. LOUIS- Maryville University Director of Athletics, Tony Duckworth, announced today that 90 student-athletes have been named to the 2010 Saints Academic Team. To qualify, a student-athlete must record a 3.5 G.P.A. or higher for the 2009-10 academic year, utilized a season of participation and have finished the season with the team.
The women's soccer led the contingent with 13 players on each team being named to the Saints Academic Team while baseball and volleyball followed closely behind with 11 from each squad.
Three student-athletes, Eric Gruenewald, Tyler Saxton and Cory Scott s were selected on more than one team. Gruenewald was a member of the men's basketball and baseball teams, Saxton was a member of the men's basketball and tennis teams and Scott was a member of the men's golf and soccer teams.
