Women's Soccer Distributes Team Awards

ST. LOUIS—At its annual season end banquet, the Maryville University women's soccer squad distributed its team awards Sunday evening.

Senior Lauren Dieckmann (St. Louis) was named Team MVP for the second consecutive year, sophomore Sarah Griggs (O'Fallon, Ill.) received the Coaches Award and freshman Dana Hillis (St. Peters, Mo.) was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Dieckmann was a three-time First-team All-Conference (SLIAC) selection and was named Third-team All-Conference (GLVC) this season as a defender. She played in 69 games in her career and ranks ninth on Maryville's list of career leaders with her three game-winning goals.

Griggs played in all 17 games this year and had one goal and one assist. Her lone goal of the season was a game-winning shot against GLVC opponent, Saint Joseph's on Sept. 6.

Hillis co-led the team in goals scored (4) and assists (2) in 17 games played.
