Men's Soccer Season in Review
The 2009 Maryville University men's soccer team.
Junior Dustin Allison (St. Louis) led the Saints with his five goals and 11 points. Sophomore Erik Roediger (Columbia, Ill.) was the second-leading scorer with his four goals.
Classmate Kevin Aubuchon (St. Louis) and freshman Cody Marinelli (Springfield, Ill.) co-led the squad with two assists each.
Sophomore goalkeeper, Michael Flately (St. Louis) made 76 saves in his 1,060 minutes in the net. He finished with a .710 save percentage and had one shutout victory.
Maryville recorded its lone win of the season against conference opponent, Southern Indiana, on Oct. 11 in Evansville, Ind. as Allison and Aubuchon tallied three points in the game.
The Saints faced three Top 25 opponents over the course of the season, two that were GLVC competitors. Maryville faced the No. 10 Drury Panthers and No. 12 Northern Kentucky Norse.
Senior Cory Scott (Hannibal, Mo.) was named to ESPN The Magazine/ CoSIDA Third-team Academic All-District.
Three seniors added their names to the program's record book. Scott is tied for No. 2 in games played (74), ranks No. 3 in assists (14), No. 7 in points (36) and No. 8 in goals (11).
Jacob Wengert (Jackson, Mo.) and Andrew Buelow (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) are tied for No. 4 and 10 in games played with 71 and 69, respectively.
