Haff and Travis Account for Three Points in 6-3 Loss to Missouri Baptist
ST. LOUIS-- Freshmen Erinne Haff (Jackson, Mo.) and Chelsea Travis (Ballwin, Mo.) accounted for all three of Maryville's points in the 6-3 loss to Missouri Baptist Thursday.
Travis won at No. 1 singles 6-4 and 6-3 and Haff was victorious 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles. They later combined for the 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Classmate Victoria Roberson (Ballwin, Mo.) fell 7-5 and 6-2 at No. 2 singles, senior Beth Nunn (St. Charles, Mo.) lost 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
Sophomore Anne Kilian (Crystal City, Mo.) and sophomore Karen Schwarm (Vandalia, Ill.) rounded out Maryville's singles competitors. Kilian fell 6-4 and 6-2 at No. 5 and Scharm 6-1 and 6-2 at No. 6.
Junior Anna Hindelang played an exhibition singles match, but was defeated 8-1.
Roberson and Kilian fell 8-3 and Schwarm and Nunn 8-5 at No. 2 and 3 doubles, respectively.
The Saints return to the court Tuesday when they host Webster at 4 p.m.
