Women's Tennis Falls 9-0 to Lindenwood
ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Maryville University women's tennis team (0-2 overall) fell 9-0 to Lindenwood Tuesday.
Freshman Chelsea Travis and Victoria Roberson, both of Ballwin, Mo., lost at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Travis was defeated 6-0 and 6-2 and Roberson 6-0 and 6-1.
Classmate Erinne Haff (Jackson, Mo.) fell 6-3 and 6-2 at No. 3 singles and sophomore Anne Kilian (Crystal City, Mo.) lost 6-1 and 6-0 at the No. 4 spot.
Sophomore Karen Schwarm (Vandalia, Ill.) and junior Anna Hindelang (Grafton, Ill.) rounded out Maryville's competitors in singles play. Schwarm lost 6-1 and 6-2 and Hindelang fell 6-1 and 6-0.
The Saints lost their three doubles matches by a score of 8-2. Travis and Haff competed at the No. 1 spot, Roberson and Kilian at No. 2 and Schwarm and Hindelang at No. 3.
Maryville returns to the court Thursday when it hosts Missouri Baptist at the Creve Coeur Racquet Club at 3 p.m.
