Pawprint – Student Newspaper

pawprint-logoPawprint is Maryville’s student-run electronic newspaper. The weekly publication gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience as a reporter, photographer, copy editor, graphic designer, social media practitioner, and web editor.

Opportunities are available for all Maryville students to contribute to each week’s publication, regardless of their major area of study. The experience is especially valuable for students interested in a Communication degree. Pawprint can be added to a student’s schedule for 1, 2, or 3 credit hours – depending on the number of articles written. Students are able to contribute to a number of sections, including: News, Sports, Features, Opinions, Entertainment, Podcasts, and Video Interviews

The Bark – Student Broadcast

The Bark is Maryville’s student-run online broadcast. The broadcast gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience as an anchor, producer, video editor, and videographer. Students are able to work on The Bark when enrolled in Pawprint.

Saints Talk – Student Podcast

Saints Talk is Maryville’s student-run sports podcast. The podcast gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience as an audio host, interviewer, and sound board operator. Students are able to work on Saints Talk when enrolled in Pawprint.

St. Bernard & Associates – Student Organization

St. Bernard & Associates is a student run, pre-professional organization that replicates work in a public relations agency environment. Each semester, the group offers pro-bono communication services for one real world client.  Students gain experience with a number of practical applications: strategic planning, creative brainstorming, writing, design, client meetings, campaign budgeting, and professional communications. Following each campaign, the group tours and networks with one different St. Louis public relations agency each semester.
