According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average 2016 annual wage of entry-level chemists with bachelor’s degrees working in manufacturing was $75,420. The job outlook through 2026 was projected to be as fast as average. Earning a graduate or professional degree in science or medicine boosts the wages and outlook significantly. The average 2017 wages of a dentist are $159,770 and those of a medical doctor are $208,00 with a projected 15 percent increase in jobs by 2026, much faster than the average of all occupations.
