Music

Maryville University offers a minor in music. While some students pursue music study for personal enrichment, others take further professional training and become music therapists, teachers, performers or music technology experts.

You can also study music as a concentration within the liberal studies program, or in a music therapy degree from the School of Health Professions.

If you’re interested in performance, our applied music courses give you the opportunity to make music alone or in a group setting. Maryville offers both vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as private lessons. In music theory courses, you will explore how music is put together. In music history courses, you will explore music’s role in our society.
