Academic Program -
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
The following programs have additional admission
requirements. |
|
Actuarial Science: ACT Mathematics subscore of
26 or SAT-I mathematics score of 650.
Art and Design: (Art
Education, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Studio
Art): Submission of Portfolio. Contact the
Admissions Office for details on the portfolio
requirement.
Clinical Laboratory Science:
2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 20 ACT
composite for freshman applicants or 3.0 math and
science grade point average for transfer applicants.
Education: Students are
admitted to Maryville as Pre-Education majors. When
they meet the program requirements of 2.7 college
grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and acceptable
scores on both the ACT or SAT and the C-BASE
examination, they will be accepted to the Education
major.
Music Therapy: Students
are initially admitted as Pre-Music Therapy.
Students are then required to audition and interview
with a Music Therapy faculty member to be fully
admitted to the program. Please contact the
Admissions Office for assistance in scheduling your
appointment and audition.
Nursing: Students with an
ACT of 21 and a cumulative high school or college
grade point of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) are
automatically admitted to Nursing. Those students
who do not meet the above requirements but meet the
university admission requirements will be admitted
conditionally to the Nursing program. (Students with
at least 24 college credits are not required to
submit the ACT.)
Occupational Therapy: 3.0
grade point average for high school or college (on a
4.0 scale), 21 ACT composite score or 990 SAT-I
combined score, completed program application and
recommendation form. The department encourages and
gives full consideration to all applicants for
admission; therefore, those who do not meet the
criteria may be interviewed and considered on a
case-by-case basis. (ACT or SAT-I scores are not
required for transfer applicants who have completed
at least 60 hours of college credit.)
Physical Therapy: 3.0
grade point average for high school or college (on a
4.0 scale), 22 ACT composite with Mathematics and
Science Reasoning subscores of at least 20 or 1110
SAT-I combined score, 2 letters of recommendation
and 20 hours of physical therapy observation. (ACT
or SAT-I scores are not required for transfer
applicants who have completed a Bachelor’s degree.) |
