Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Complete each academic year after January 1 but before March 1.
  • Access the form at http://www.fafsa.gov/
  • Be sure to get a PIN# first at http://www.pin.ed.gov/
  • Maryville University institutional code is 002482
  • When you receive a completed electronic or paper Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor, adjust figures you estimated, review all information to insure it is correct and make sure Maryville is listed.
  • If you are chosen for verification by the federal processor (one in every three applicants), call the University Financial Aid Office at 314-529-9360 to determine what additional paperwork is needed before your official financial aid award will be processed.

After you receive your official financial aid award:

  • Sign and return it to the Financial Aid Office.
  • All institutional and external scholarships, grants and loans that are part of the student's educational funding must be taken into account when an award is packaged. This includes outside scholarships awarded to the student and non-federally-funded educational loans.
  • Outside scholarships or other sources of outside funding must be reported to the Financial Aid Office in writing by the student.
