Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete each academic year after January 1 but before March 1.
- Access the form at http://www.fafsa.gov/
- Be sure to get a PIN# first at http://www.pin.ed.gov/
- Maryville University institutional code is 002482
- When you receive notice that your Student Aid Report (SAR) is available from the federal processor, adjust figures you estimated, review all information to insure it is correct and make sure Maryville is listed.
- If you are chosen for verification by the federal processor (one in every three applicants), call the Student Service Center at 314-529-9360 to determine what additional paperwork is needed before your official financial aid award can be processed.
How you receive your official financial aid award:
- Aid will be packaged and made available in the student's Access Maryville portal under Finacial Aid/Financial aid award letter. You will receive an email explaining how to set up your individual access to this file.
- All institutional and external scholarships and grants will be listed as "accepted so no action is required to accept these funds. Federal loans and student employment that are part of the funding must be either accepted or rejected for each semester by the student. Follow up processing will be sent to explain the steps needed to arrange for these funds to be disbursed after the student accepts them.
- Outside scholarships, grants or loans must be reported to the Financial Aid by the student.
- Summer semester funding will be determined once the student has registered for summer classes. The student will receive an email via the Maryville email account showing summer aid added to the current award. Summer is the end of the academic year so is added to existing funding. Once again, Federal loans will require the student going to their award letter to acept or reject funding.
