Spring 2012 Walking Tours

Grand South Grand

During the first decades of the 20th century, South Grand stretching south from Arsenal Street evolved into an elegant commercial district.  Architects and craftsmen enhanced its storefronts and apartments with elaborate terra cotta and ornamental brick.  This tour will trace the story of the street from its french origins, through its early 20th century building boom, to its current revitalization.
