The music program seeks to enable the student to understand music as a distinctive form of artistic expression and to develop an awareness of the interrelationship among music and other aesthetic and intellectual experiences.

While Maryville, currently offers only a formal minor in music, a robust program of study also can be developed as
a concentration within the major in Liberal Studies program.

Students interested in pursuing either the minor in Music
or a major in liberal studies with a concentration in music should contact the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
