The Graphic Design program prepares students for the
demanding, ever-changing state of the communication arts. The goal
is to educate creative thinkers capable of solving challenges in
visual communications. The successful graphic designer is able to
bring creative, intellectual and technical expertise to diverse
business environments, including firms involved in publishing,
promotion and advertising, packaging and retail, as well as
interactive, environmental, exhibit, and corporate design. A student
may earn either the B.F.A. or B.A. degree. The graphic design
curriculum is sequential in nature.
|
|

The B.F.A. in Graphic Design is an intensely focused professional
degree structured to facilitate development of a mature, diverse and
competitive portfolio. It prepares students for full participation
in the professional design community.
The B.A. in Graphic Design is a liberal arts degree. The B.A.
curriculum reduces the concentration in graphic design study in
order to allow time for pursuit of a second strong academic
interest. The B.A. is a good choice for a student considering a
double major or a minor in a complementary discipline.
|
|

Graphic design graduates typically find themselves working in
design studios, advertising agencies, marketing and public relations
firms, publishing houses, television studios and university,
corporate
or museum publication departments. At some point in their careers,
many designers set up their
own studios.

is a professional undergraduate course of study and consists of 132
credit hours, 90 of which are in art and design foundations, graphic

will follow the semester portfolio review. This evaluation will be
produced by the graphic design faculty and will address students’
