New Background Check Procedure for SOE Practicum Students

All SOE students will now register with the Family Care Safety Registry with the state of Missouri for their annual background checks.  Students need to log-on to:  https://webapp01.dhss.mo.gov/FCSRWebRegistration/welcome.aspx and enter the required information electronically.  The cost is $10.00 and they will need to pay for it on-line with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard)   If the student prefers to submit a paper application and pay by check they should follow the directions on the web site.

The brief on-line application will ask for their name, social security number and date of birth.  Once students have done this they should receive a copy of their results within a week.  In some cases the FCSR will require additional information – just follow the agency’s directives.   

All students planning to enroll in a practicum need to turn in a copy of their results Joan in Gander 243.  They could also fax their copy to Joan at (314) 529-9921. This is a one-time registration.  Future requests for background checks for other practicum assignments from this source will be provided to us at no additional cost to the student.  

Note:  Some students may already be registered with the site.  The FCSR will not take their information on-line and will give them a message that tells them they are registered.  If this is the case – we need to know so we can print a copy of their background check here in the SOE.  Contact Joan and let her know.
