Partnerships
Maryville University's
School of Education has partnered with St. Louis
area schools
in a
focus on teacher education and schooling. Maryville
is a leader in Missouri and nationally in
this collaborative effort.
Maryville
University is a founding member of the
Metropolitan St. Louis Consortium for Educational Renewal, a collaborative
partnership for the simultaneous renewal of teacher education and
schooling. The Consortium helps support our continuing work with
four partner
Professional Development Schools:
Clark
Elementary School,
Parkway South High School,
Wilkinson Early Childhood Center, and
Roosevelt High School.

Maryville
University joined with Harris Stowe State University and these school
districts to join the
National
Network for Educational Renewal in 1993. We continue to be
committed to the Agenda for Democracy that forms the core of the
Network's work.
Maryville
University continues pursuing additional partnerships with area schools
for the mutual benefit of both institutions and the advancement of
improved student learning. The Maryville Institute for
Partnerships in Education promotes and supports initiatives that
facilitate positive change through partnership development and
collaboration.

Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (www.aacte.org),
the Association for Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher
Education (www.ailacte.org),
the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, and the
organizations listed above.
Accreditations
Maryville
University's School of Education is accredited at both
the
national and the
state level.
Teacher Education programs at Maryville University are nationally
accredited by the
National
Council
for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE establishes
high and rigorous standards for preparation programs, holds accredited
institutions accountable for meeting these standards, and requires
institutions to demonstrate that teacher candidates know their subject
matter and how to teach it effectively to all students. It attests to
the commitment and quality of Maryville's teacher preparation.

Performance of Graduates
