For most teachers, additional coursework and professional development enhances their practice.
In addition, teacher compensation increases in most districts with the completion of the M.A. degree.
It is possible to complete initial post-baccalaureate certification in conjunction with the M.A. in Education Degree. Usually, this requires additional coursework and day courses.
