Weekend and Evening College (WEC) students have the advantage of earning college credit for knowledge gained from their life experience. Portfolios enable WEC students to apply their experiential learning toward their bachelor's degree through this written document that allows them to describe and verify relevant college-level learning experiments.
Whether your goal to complete your degree is for a career change, to build on an existing career or to expand your personal base of knowledge, Maryville's PLA program can help you achieve your objective.
Parts of the portfolio include a learning component, documentation and brief autobiography. The learning component describes prior learning in clear and concise terms in relationship with a degree program. Documentation provides examples of knowledge gained from experiences in actual work or life situations. The autobiography demonstrates how the students' experiences contributed to their learning.
